Welcome to the University of Lausanne. You are an invited visiting researcher (without a UNIL contract) and you will work at the University of Lausanne for a limited period of time. Below is some information about how your host can be of help. On this website you will find some useful information to help you find your way around in the beginning.
Do not hesitate to contact us at the Welcome Centre if you have any specific questions. We will be happy to help you along with your host. More about the International Relations Welcome Centre.
Ask your host for some initial help
As soon as you have decided to come to Lausanne, ask your host, or your hosting department/institute to help you with the initial paper procedure and a few practical matters.
On this website we have created a special section for hosts (researcher or department/institute) and administrators, to help them receive visiting researchers. For example, hosts and administrators should send an invitation letter to the visiting researcher 3-4 months before the arrival of their guest (if the guest is from a country outside of Europe), also, the host needs to inform the Human Resource department, as well as the Finance Department, of the arrival of their guest. Hosts can also assist the guest in finding a place to stay and in getting a campus card and other administrative procedures related to getting set-up on campus.
We hope you will enjoy your stay here at the University of Lausanne!
